Captured this iPhone image while on a visit to Grand Teton National Park.
Early morning capture of Mesa Arch, Canyonlands National Park, Utah. Image converted to monochrome using Photoshop with Nik Silver software.
Road America located near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin is a great track for capturing images of exotic race cars. Shutter speed is critical in ensuring the background is blurred to show motion, and with panning keeping the car in sharp focus. Start with a shutter speed of 1/125 - 1/250 of a second.
Just returned from America's 1st national park. Can't imagine what Thomas Moran and William Henry Jackson thought when they first explored Yellowstone. Or what Congress thought when they first saw the paintings and photographs.
Hopefully it's no too far off. Need to round-trip the Elroy Sparta Trail this year at least once.
Found this question on the Grand Canyon National Park's website. I found the answer quite interesting. For me, I am always looking for an "excuse" to head back to the canyon.
Q: How hard is it to hike into the Grand Canyon?
A: The answer is up to you. Depending on how prepared you are, your trip can be a vacation or a challenge, a revelation or an ordeal. The majority of Grand Canyon hikers are here for the first time, and although many are avid hikers, they find that hiking the Grand Canyon is very different from most other hiking experiences. They tend to react to the experience in one of two ways, either they can't wait to get back, or they swear they will never do it again.
"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place.....I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them." - Elliott Erwitt
Following the words of Erwitt, here is an image created with an iPhone 5S

Digital image editing software and plug-ins can be pricey. Smart Photo Editor is a stand alone software that is an exceptional value ($30.00). It offers many presets that are fun to experiment with and allows you to convert your photos into very creative works of art. This image of Split Rock Lighthouse was edited using this software. www.smartphotoeditor.com
